If you are new to Freemasonry and are looking to find out more, may we suggest that you start by clicking on the link “What is Freemasonry”. This will give you a brief explanation as to what Freemasonry is all about.
Although Freemasonry is secular and multi-denominational, all candidates for membership must declare a belief in a Supreme Being. All candidates must also be of demonstrable good character. Membership of City University Lodge is open to candidates from all walks of life including City, University of London and Cass Business School’s students, alumni, staff or anyone interested in pursuing Freemasonry in London.
City University Lodge is governed by the Constitutions of the United Grand Lodge of England which, following the example of medieval stonemasons, is, and has always been, restricted to men. Women Freemasons have two separate Grand Lodges which are restricted to women. Anyone interested in further information about women’s freemasonry should contact either The Order of Women Freemasons or The Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons.
If you wish to join City University Lodge and you know a member of the Lodge then please speak to them about joining. Otherwise please email the Lodge on citylodge@freemasons.London and someone from the Lodge will contact you and give you the details about the possibilities of joining. Arrangements will be made for you to meet a few members informally. If you still wish to join, you will be given an application form to complete. You will then need to meet the Lodge’s committee prior to being balloted for membership of the Lodge. All being well, you will then be given a date for your admission.
The Lodge currently meets four times a year at Freemason’ Hall in London. All four meetings occur on Fridays.
